September Meeting for Church Council Members

On September 25, 2007 34 church council and TEAM members met at All Saints Lutheran Church in Hudson. Council members got a chance to get to know each other and an opportunity to share information about the congregations.

There was a recap of the TEAM's work in August and September. Click here for the Recap Summary. This was followed by discussion of the options under consideration and an update on planning for the Joint Worship Service on November 18th.

November Meeting at First Lutheran

On Monday evening, November 19th 28 council members gathered in the fellowship hall at First Lutheran. All six churches were represented at this meeting.

The meeting started with a stirring prayer by Dorothy Richards.

As council members introduced themselves they were asked to share one highlight from the "Weave Us Together" worship the day before. Most people were unable to name just one thing. Some of the highlights mentioned included the crowd, seeing all the children, all three choirs, the hymns, Pastor Jerry Wahl's sermon, the clowns at the children's sermon, communion together, and the mimes. One person said that he had been to one-hour worship services that seemed a lot longer than the two hours on November 18th.

Members received a summary of the October TEAM meeting. This summary included a list of the pros and cons that TEAM members developed for each of the three cooperation options under consideration. David Raymond then presented a summary of the consolidation case studies that were reviewed at the November TEAM meeting. There was then time for questions and discussion. Some council members talked about the urgency to move quickly, either because of financial stress in their church or because of a need to call a permanent pastor. Some written questions from King of Kings were briefly reviews. The meeting ended with the Lord's Prayer.
